re[finish]

refinishing aluminum siding is a simple, long-lasting & cost-effective way to enhance the appearance of your home.  the color choices are limitless & the final finish is both beautiful & durable.

[the process

factory finishes on aluminum siding products tend to degrade over time due to exposure to sunlight & the harsh extremes of Northeast Ohio weather.  as aluminum siding ages its coating can become worn & faded, chalky to the touch or even begin to disappear completely.  a thorough power-wash & complete scrub & scour by hand will remove any surface dirt & debris & prepare the oxidized existing finish for recoat.

after a few days for the surfaces to thoroughly dry, the finish work can begin.  windows, doors, fixtures & stone work are carefully masked with plastic.  landscaping, roofs, driveways, walkways & all other surfaces not to be painted are carefully covered with clean canvas drop cloths.  seams around windows & doors & areas where siding meets brick, stone or wood are caulked & sealed with a premium siliconized acrylic latex caulk.

finally, after all prep has been thoroughly completed, two thin coats of Sherwin Williams Superpaint Satin are applied by airless sprayer for a smooth factory-like finish.  Both coats are often applied in the same day to ensure proper inter-coat adhesion.  applying one thin layer over another ensures even coverage & sheen.

Once the siding has been completely coated, any wood trim, fixtures, shutters, rails & other details will be painted as well.  finally, after a thorough clean-up, the job is complete.

upon completion, your home will have a brand new, beautiful & durable exterior coating.
