hello[color]
color is at the
center of design. without color, most all masterpieces of
design - architecture, furnishings, artwork, textiles, etc. - would
simply lose their beauty, their edge. color adds dimension.
color enhances texture. color directs the eye, the mind, the
heart.
in our homes,
color is essential. color makes a statement, color is a
language. the right color says welcome, relax, get to work,
celebrate, sleep, eat, enjoy & a million other things at once.
color is a mood, a
mindset. color is a focal point, a flash or an
embellishment. color is hip. color is classic. color
is good.

what's
your [color?]
considering
color, color selection & color support:
first. trust
yourself
you have your own sense of style, so put it to work. often our
customers come to us with a pretty good idea of how they want their
finished rooms to look. many have already flipped through the
myriad of magazines & taken the journey to the paint store to
pour over the hundreds and hundreds of options. in fact, a
good deal of our customers have more or less decided on their colors
long before they even call for an estimate. o.k. we can
handle that. you pick the colors, we paint the walls,
everybody wins.
but what if its not so simple? say you've narrowed it down to
a dreamy shade of greeny blue : peacock feather? porch swing?
northern lights? but which to choose? we understand . .
. & when those little paper chips can do no more . . . we
can help.
second. let us
help
in our experience, the best way to see a color (truly) is on the
wall. that's right. its a big decision, & most color
samples are very small. so once you've narrowed it down to a
few finalists, we'll mix some sample quarts & paint a few larger
samples right on the wall. first, you'll get a much truer
depiction of the color of each sample. second, you'll have a
chance to view these samples over a period of time, against your
furnishings & accessories, with the texture of your walls &
in the changing light of day. often, at this point, the choice
becomes clear.
however - some times, some colors, some walls, some rooms, for
whatever reason, won't cooperate. if color selection has
stymied you in the past, or if the idea of having to choose from
such a vast & varied spectrum seems simply overwhelming, fear
not, there is an answer.
third. trust a
pro
we often recommend magazines, catalogs, websites & showrooms as
a means of more broad color advice. often the idea is there
somewhere, it just needs a little inspiration.
also, many coatings
manufacturers now offer color selection software designed to let you
see any color in any room instantly. upload your own photo or
use one of the many interior images in their online libraries.
